Methodology
Last updated: 2 May 2026
GLP Chart ranks United States weight loss programs using a published, repeatable framework. Every program we review is scored against the same criteria, in the same way.
What we cover
We focus on cash-pay weight loss programs available to U.S. residents. Programs are eligible for review if they hold current LegitScript healthcare certification, operate in at least one U.S. state, and offer either coaching, prescription medication management, combination care, or tied-product subscription plans.
Scoring framework
Each program receives a score across five dimensions. Each dimension is weighted equally:
1. Pricing transparency (1-10)
- Are all costs published before sign-up?
- Are introductory prices clearly distinguished from ongoing prices?
- Are mandatory add-ons (lab work, shipping, consult fees) shown upfront?
- Is the dose-by-dose cost progression visible?
2. Cancellation terms (1-10)
- What is the minimum commitment, if any?
- How does cancellation work? Is it self-serve or does it require a phone call?
- Are there cancellation fees or pro-rated charges?
- Are members locked into refilling unused supply?
3. Onboarding experience (1-10)
- How long from sign-up to first prescription?
- Is the medical consultation synchronous or asynchronous?
- What information must the member provide?
- Are required follow-ups clearly scheduled?
4. Medication options (1-10)
- What classes of weight loss medication does the program offer?
- Is the medication FDA-approved branded product, FDA-approved generic, or compounded?
- How is dosing managed and adjusted?
- Is the program transparent about medication sourcing?
5. Member-reported outcomes (1-10)
- What do verified members say in independent forums and review sites?
- Are common complaints addressed by the program?
- Does customer support resolve issues without escalation?
- Are clinical outcomes (where reported) consistent with peer-reviewed registration trial expectations?
How we collect data
Pricing and policies are gathered weekly from each provider's public-facing website and verified through anonymous purchase flow walkthroughs. Member feedback is sourced from public forums (Reddit, Facebook groups) and program review sites, with verified-member posts weighted more heavily. We do not pay or solicit reviews.
What we don't do
- We do not let providers approve content before publication.
- We do not change rankings in exchange for payment, sponsorship, or marketing partnerships.
- We do not remove unfavorable information at a provider's request unless it is factually incorrect.
- We do not present compounded medications as FDA-approved or vice versa. The regulatory status of every option is labeled clearly.
Update cadence
Pricing tables are refreshed every Monday. Full program re-scores happen quarterly or whenever a program announces a material change to pricing, lock-in terms, or medication availability.
